We offer both private and group lessons, geared specifically towards meeting your individual goals! Private lessons provide one hour of individualized attention and focus solely on one rider and horse. Group and semi-private lessons connect riders working towards achieving similar goals and accommodate friends and family that want to ride together.
Whether you prefer to ride in a private or group setting, safety is of extreme importance to us here at the Colorado Equestrian Academy. Therefore, we require that our riders wear an ASTM/SEI certified horseback riding helmet and an appropriate riding pant and shoe. When scheduling your lesson, please be sure to discuss appropriate attire with Kristen.
Private lessons provide one-on-one time between instructor and student. This is an excellent option for the beginner rider as it ensures individualized attention to aid in establishing a solid foundation in horsemanship. It can also be ideal for advanced riders with very specific agendas, looking to refine their skills.

Once you become apart of the Colorado Equestrian Academy, you join a community of equestrians that participate in a variety of additional fun events and programs! To name a few, we test our skills by competing at local shows, we have fun around the barn with trail rides and parties, and take on new educational challenges with weekend clinics! Come join our barn family!
We have 326 acres to roam at our leisure providing opportunity for relaxing and fun trail rides with fellow equestrians! We also look forward to opportunities to haul our horses off property to ride in the mountains which are just a short drive away!
We enjoy attending local open horse shows, competing in a variety of disciplines. It is fun and challenging to put our hard earned skills and practice to the test away from home!
Horseback riding is a very physically demanding activity. Therefore, we hold classes specifically designated to better strengthening our riders and help them become more fit for horseback riding specifically. We call it “fit-to-ride”!
As an added fun activity, we have mounted drill team practices. It’s an excellent way for our riders to participate in a team activity on horseback while garnering new skills in the saddle!
Horses enjoy the holidays too! We love celebrating with our four legged friends with costume contests, potluck, and games on horseback! Always a great and memorable time!
Our mission is to create true horseman, educated on more than just riding. Therefore, we provide additional educational opportunities for our students to learn about many horse related topics such as horse ownership and basic care requirements.
